General Questions

Q: I don’t always use every field available in a face chart and I don’t want those fields to show in the final result. How can I hide the fields that I leave blank from my face chart?

In the app’s settings, you can change whether empty fields are hidden or shown. Go to the title page and click the settings icon
in the upper right corner. In the Face Charts tab, there is a setting labeled “Hide empty fields”. Slide switch to “ON” to hide empty fields from the final face chart.



Q: How can I share my pictures and completed face charts with other people?

Face Charts allows you to share photos and completed face charts with social media services, save to photo albums, and send through e-mail. To share photos open the client editor and scroll to the photo you want to share. Click on the share icon and select a sharing service or click “More…” to see a full list of available services. You may be asked to log in to some services and allow permissions for our app to post media to your account.

You can also long-press on a photo to bring up a quick menu of actions. To do this press your finger on a photo and leave it there for about a second. This will bring up a menu of actions to select from such as saving to your photo album or emailing.

In addition to sharing photos, you can also share completed face charts. Open the face chart and click the share button or long-press on a face chart. Just like photos, you can share to social media, save to your photo albums, and send through e-mail.

Q: How can I view my photos full-screen? In the past I could tap the view icon, but that has been replaced with the share icon.

To view any photo in fullscreen, simply tap the photo in the client editor. This will bring up the photo gallery. You can swipe left or right to change the photo. Tap the screen to hide the on-screen controls and view the photo full-screen. Tap again to see the controls.

Q: Can I sync events to my Google calendar?

Yes! To do this you must enable calendar syncing for your Google account:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”.


  3. Select your Google account from the account list, or add it if it has not been added yet.


  4. Slide toggle switch for “Calendars” to the ON position.


Your Google Calendars will now be listed along with your existing calendars. Open Face Charts and select one of your Google calendars to sync to in the scheduling settings.

Q: Will there ever be an Android version of Face Charts?

We love Android! Unfortunately, we have limited resources and currently don’t expect to have the ability to put out a proper version of Face Charts for Android at this time. We fear that it would always lag behind the iOS version in terms of features and therefore be inferior and we don’t think that’s fair to our Android customers. We hope one day we can change that!

iCloud Syncing

Q: Some of my events are not syncing properly – what should I try first? (Step 1)

  1. First thing to do is give it time – iCloud syncing can be unpredictable and it may take anywhere from seconds to hours to complete depending on various conditions. This is handled by iOS and not the app itself so we have no control over it.
  2. Terminating the app and restarting it from scratch will sometimes trigger syncing. Also rebooting the phone and running the app on a fresh boot will sometimes trigger syncing.
  3. Make sure you are connected to the internet. A Wi-Fi connection is preferable but not required.

If all of that fails, then the next step is to reset iCloud syncing.

Q: Some of my events are not syncing properly – how do I reset syncing? (Step 2)

Occasionally iCloud syncing will become corrupted and stop syncing some or all of your data. When this happens, we can reset iCloud syncing to get it working again.

  1. Begin by turning off iCloud syncing for Face Charts on ALL of your iOS devices. Make sure iCloud syncing is off on all of your iOS devices before continuing to the next step.
  2. On each of your iOS devices, press “iCloud support actions” and then press the “Reset iCloud sync” button. Do this on each of your iOS devices before continuing to the next step.
  3. On each of your iOS devices turn iCloud syncing back on. Give each device a few minutes to sync with the iCloud servers before moving to the next device.
  4. If you get duplicate events after resyncing all your devices, then press “iCloud support actions” and then press the “De-duplicate records” button. You only need to do this on one device and then let the changes sync to the other devices automatically.
