Manual Sync Procedure Using Backups
This method will allow you to “copy” your events, clients, and photos from one device to another. It is a one-way manual sync. The steps below will guide you through the process of creating a backup file of your data, e-mailing the backup to yourself, and then opening the backup file in the e-mail on your other device. This will add the events in the backup from one device to the existing events on your other device. If an event or client you import already exists on the device (because you imported it previously for example) then it will be overwritten. This will prevent duplicate data from appearing on your devices and can keep events in sync.

    Settings Icon

  1. Go to the title page and press the settings icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Create Backup

  3. Press the Create backup or restore data button in the Face Charts tab.
  4. Select Create E-mail Backup

  5. Press the Create e-mail backup button.
  6. Create Backup

  7. Read the instructions for creating an e-mail backup. You can select the events to include, and whether to include photos. When ready, press Create backup.
  8. Send Backup Email

  9. This will create a new email with the backup file attached. Send this email to any account that is set up on the device you are syncing to. Typically this means you will be sending this email to “yourself”. Once you submit the e-mail, allow it some time until it can actually send the email and then arrive on the other device. It may take a few minutes.
  10. Email Attachment

  11. On the other device, open the email with the backup file you sent to yourself. Click on the attachment to begin downloading it from the email server.
  12. Open Email

  13. When it is done downloading, click on the backup file to import the events and clients into this device’s Face Charts app. It will add the new data to your existing events and clients.
  14. Select Create Backup

  15. Select Open in “Face Charts”.
  16. Import Backup

  17. This will open the Face Charts app and import the events and clients from the backup file into this device’s Face Charts app. It will add the new data to your existing events and clients. This will effectively perform a one-way synchronization from one device to another. Perform the same actions in the other direction to fully synchronize two devices.

NOTE: Copying data from one device to another using this method may cause duplicate entries later on if you decide to use iCloud syncing. If this happens, simply delete the duplicate events.
iCloud Sync Procedure

This method will fully and automatically sync your events, client and photos across all devices connected to the iCloud account. Once enabled, it requires no user interaction. It will require the use of some of your iCloud storage space.

    Settings Icon

  1. Go to the title page and press the settings icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Enable iCloud Syncing

  3. Slide the iCloud sync control to the “ON” position. This will start the initial syncing process.
  4. iCloud Data Loading

  5. When you open your events you may have to wait while the iCloud data is loaded. It should only take a few moments.
